Tropical Cyclone Wipha

Dear Valued Customer,
On July 31, 2019, The Hong Kong Observatory has hoisted “Tropical Cyclone Storm Signal No. 8” along with an amber rainstorm warning. The Meteorological Bureau of Shenzhen’s “Typhoon Signal Blue” and torrential rainstorm warning remains in force.
Name: Tropical Cyclone Wipha
Areas Affected: Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangdong Regions
Current Position: 340 kilometers (211 miles) south of Hong Kong
Current Maximum Sustained Wind: 85-94 kilometers per hour (53-58 miles per hour)
Forecast: Tropical Cyclone Wipha continues to approach Hong Kong and the western coast of Guangdong. Tropical Cyclone Storm Signal No. 8 is expected to remain in force for the remainder of the day.
Remarks: Port operations in Hong Kong will be suspended for the remainder of the day. Operations at the Port of Yantian is limited and may be suspended.
